Main

This recipe is a fantastic one for buffets or family gatherings. We used to use this recipe when I worked in wedding catering as both a canape and a main meal. It's not too hot, and any excess heat is well balanced out by the sweet flavours. Make this recipe with cocktail sausages for a simple snack or use the larger one for a hot dog with a twist. I have also made this with chicken and roast potatoes. Give it a try - I'm sure you'll love it.

Sweet chilli sausages

ingridients

  • 700g sausages

  • 4 Tbsp tomato ketchup

  • 2 Tbsp clear honey

  • 2 tsp mild chilli powder

  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed

  • 1 tsp dried oregano

Method

  1. Heat oven to 220° (Gas 7). Arrange the sausages on a roasting tin in a single layer and bake for 10 minutes

  2. Whilst the sausages are cooking, mix all the other ingredients together until the sauce is smooth. Add 1 Tbsp of water to the mix to loosen it up

  3. Remove the sausages from the oven and pour the sauce over the top. Mix well to evenly coat them and bake for another 30 minutes

  4. Serve
