Sausage Pie

The ultimate comfort food, sausage pie is one of my favourite easy to cook and cheap meals. It's a hearty meal that lifts your mood and warms you up.

Sausage Pie

ingridients

  • 5 sausages

  • 1 medium onion, sliced

  • Gravy granules

  • 1 Tbsp tomato puree

  • 3 medium potatoes, peeled and chopped

  • 100g mushrooms, sliced

  • 500ml red wine

  • 1 tsp garlic granules

Method

  1. Heat a thick bottomed pan over a medium heat.

  2. Boil a pan of water and cook the potatoes until soft

  3. Add the sausages, mushrooms and onion with some oil and fry gently for five minutes

  4. Add gravy granules and tomato puree to the sausage mix once it is well coloured. Mix well

  5. Add the wine to the pan, reduce the heat and reduce slowly

  6. Mash the potatoes

  7. Put the sausage mix in a casserole dish. Put the potatoes on top. When ready to serve, warm through in the oven.

  8. Serve
